Rangers' Choo Shin-soo stays hot with home run, double
Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers stayed hot with a home run and a double, though his club suffered its second straight loss.
Choo homered for the second straight game, but the Rangers fell to the Minnesota Twins 5-4 at Target Field in Minneapolis on Sunday (local time).
Choo led off the game with his sixth home run of the season and added a double as part of his three-RBI night. He raised his batting average from .256 to .263 in the process.
The veteran outfielder has launched five home runs in his past 11 games. He was sidelined for a big chunk of the season early on with a calf injury and then a hurt hamstring, but hasn't missed a beat in the power department.
Choo took Kyle Gibson over the left-center field fence to put the Rangers on the board early. It was Choo's 19th career leadoff shot.
Then with two outs and the bases loaded in the seventh and the Rangers down 5-2, Choo hit a two-run double to left off Ryan Pressly, cutting the deficit to one.
It was Choo's final hit of the game, and the Twins held on to win by a run. Choo grounded out to second for the game's final out with a tying run at second base. (Yonhap)
