Chung advances to quarterfinals in Shenzhen

Korean tennis star Chung Hyeon beat Aljaz Bedene of Britain 6-2, 6-0 in the second round of the Shenzhen Open in China, Thursday.
With the win, the 19-year-old made his first ATP Tour quarterfinal. It took less than an hour for Chung to beat the world No. 55. Currently world No. 58, Chung advanced to the second round after defeating China’s Wu Di 6-1, 6-0, Tuesday.
Chung’s next opponent will be Croatia’s Marin Cilic, best known for clinching the U.S. Open men’s singles title last year. In their first match-up two months ago at the Citi Open in Washington, Chung lost to the world’s No. 14 player 7-6 (2), 6-3.
