Jung Dong-hyun wins gold in alpine super combined

South Korean alpine skier Jung Dong-hyun won the gold medal in the men's super combined event at the Asian Winter Games in Kazakhstan on Friday, the Korea Ski Association said.

Jung finished first in the men's super combined with a total time of 1:45.70-- 1:04.40 in the super-G and 41.30 seconds in the slalom -- for the two rounds, the association said.

The 23-year-old's performance gave South Korea its first gold in the event at the Asian Winter Games since Hur Seung-wook won gold in 1999 in South Korea. (Yonhap)
