Korean pistol shooter wins two golds
Korea won two gold medals in the men's 25-meter standard pistol at the ongoing Asian Games here Wednesday and added a silver in the women's 50m rifle three positions event.
Hong Seong-hwan was the double gold medalist in the 25m standard pistol. He took the individual title by shooting 575 points, nudging past North Korea's Kim Jong-su by two points.
Hong, Jang Dae-kyu and Hwang Yoon-sam combined for 1,708 points to win the team gold medal. China's team had 1,707 points, followed by the North Koreans at 1,690.
In the women's event, Kwon Na-ra, Lee Yun-chae and Na Yoon-kyung together shot 1,728 points for silver, behind China (1,733).
Kwon, Lee and Na have all qualified for the individual finals scheduled later Wednesday. South Korea has now won 10 gold medals from shooting.
