Yu-na Determined to Win Olympic Gold

South Korea's figure skating queen Kim Yu-na has expressed her resolve to win a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver, Canada.

With 100 days remaining before the start of the winter Olympic Games, Kim said through her agency, IB Sports: ``I will try my best to make the best performance at my first Olympics.

``The Vancouver Olympics are special to me because they will be held in Canada, my training venue.''

Kim is training in Canada ahead of the fifth Grand Prix of the 2009-2010 ISU Figure Skating Championships to be held in Lake Placid, N.Y., Nov. 12-16.

Commenting on her latest practice, she said, ``I am making efforts to upgrade my technical level in jumps and spins. I'd like to make my performance more perfect by using sophisticated facial expressions.''

Kim, a reigning world figure champion, is the strongest contender for the 2010 Winter Olympic gold. She retook her position at the top of the world rankings last month winning the Trophee Bompard, the first Grand Prix event of the season.
