Park Chan-ho Hits First Homer in 9 Years
Park Chan-ho, of the Philadelphia Phillies, scored his first homer in nearly nine years Saturday, but failed to seal a win after conceding two home runs.
The right-hander started the game against the Florida Marlins in Miami, Fla., and allowed four runs on five hits, including two homers, over seven innings. He left the mound when the Marlins led the game 4-3.
Park belted a single home run in the third inning when the score was 0-0. He scored two home runs in matches against the Montreal Expos, the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres in 2000 when he was with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On Saturday, Park showed his most stable pitching of the season by allowing only one four-ball and striking out five. He pitched 63 strikes out of 99 thrown.
