The ceiling of an elementary school on Jeju Island is seen collapsed Wednesday after being hit by strong winds from Typhoon Mitag. The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the 18th typhoon of the year landed on the southern coast of South Jeolla Province around 9 p.m., and will pass through the southern parts of the county toward the East Sea Thursday morning. Strong winds and heavy rain have caused property damage to homes and businesses in southern regions, while causing hundreds of flights to be grounded. Yonhap
