Education First to start 'Global Intern 2014'

EF Education First, a global language education business, said Tuesday that it will launch its fifth “Global Intern 2014” program to help students around the world build successful careers for three months from June.
Applicants for the program are required to submit their resume together with a 500-word essay or a three-minute video that contains their plan for internship until April. 11.
EF said the applicants will be screened based on the creativity of the video along with the number of vote the video receives. Winners will then be chosen by a panel of judges based on their video, profile and an interview.
All applicants are also invited to join EF’s career webinars and will get access to other professional development content.
The winners of Global Intern 2014 will experience three different work environments in three different destinations: first at EF’s headquarters in Zurich, Boston, Shanghai or London; then at one of 460 EF offices and schools around the world; and finally in a destination of choice including Indonesia, Kenya and many others.
“Global Intern is an international initiative. The winner doesn’t only get to experience different work environments, but will also be able to build a professional network leading into a global career,” said Eva Kockum, president of EF Education First.
The global partner for Global Intern 2014 is AIESEC, an international nonprofit organization providing leadership programs and international internship opportunities to students. EF and AIESEC will invite students worldwide to apply for the premier internship program.
“AIESEC is a strong partner, with a clear global reach and deep roots into the student community. We look forward to finding our Global Intern 2014 together with such an international and energetic organization,” Kockum said.
