Last graduation at Taejeon Christian Intl School
Taejeon Christian International School held the last graduation on May 27 at the campus in Ojung-dong, Daejeon, where the school has been situated since its foundation in 1958.
The school, founded by U.S. missionaries, will relocate to the Daedeok Techo Valley in Daejeon and open the 2011-12 school year from August 2011.
The new campus to be built on a 43,000 square-meter area will house a five-story academic building, a multi-story gymnasium complex, a 300-500-seat performing arts center among others.
“We take pride in leading the internationalization of the valley, Daejeon city and the central region of Korea at large,” Headmaster Thomas J. Penland said in a press release.
Many graduates from the school have advanced to prestigious universities overseas, including the University of Pennsylvania, Brown, and U.C. Berkeley among many others.
