Kyung Hee University, a renowned private university in Seoul, plans to rebuild its campus. The university officials said Wednesday that a large complex will be built as part of the "Space 21" project.
Some 220 billion won ($183 million) will be invested for the construction of a 10-story building with a five-story basement, which will occupy a 164,000-square-meter land site, they said. Dawoo Construction Consortium has been selected for the project, which will start next week in way of a Build Transfer Lease (BTL) and is scheduled to be completed by 2014.
The mammoth building complex will accommodate the departments of Oriental medicine, natural science and nursing as well as include guest houses, research facilities and conference rooms.
"Our university has the most beautiful campus among Korean universities with the largest section of green zones. Based on this, we will create a world-class campus where you can easily absorb both nature and tradition," said the university office in charge of the project.
