A 67-year-old man was indicted Wednesday on charges of committing arson with intent inside a subway train in Seoul last month, according to prosecutors.
The man, surnamed Won, has been accused of setting a fire by pouring gasoline inside a subway car on May 31. Six passengers sustained injuries, and 23 others, including the suspect, were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
Prosecutors added further charges of attempted murder against the suspect, according to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors Office.
Won reportedly committed the arson after being dissatisfied with the outcome of his divorce lawsuit.
