A daycare center director in eastern Deagu is being investigated for allegedly abusing a 28-month-old boy for nearly six months, police said Wednesday.
According to the Daegu Dongbu Police Station, the director, 38, whose identity is being withheld, is suspected of abusing the child on at least 10 occasions between July and December 2018.
His mother told police that the child started showing violent behavior and refusing to go to the center after the first two months. He also often came home with marks and bruises.
His mother demanded the center disclose surveillance camera footage, in which she later confirmed the director's repeated abuse of the child, including hitting him with toys and pulling his arms.
The mother immediately reported it to police.
An investigator told The Korea Times that police have concluded their investigation and sent the case to the prosecution.
