Seoul Players is ready to stage its 11th Ten-Minute Play Festival, with the curtain rising on the first round this Friday.
This season features 16 short plays by 16 different playwrights who submitted their works earlier this year. Seoul Players said the festival features productions by 16 directors, a different one for each play, and 50 actors in total.
The plays will be split into two programs of eight shows each, and each play will be staged twice for the first round. Program A will begin this Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m., and Program B is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.
Audiences will vote on their favorites, selecting four plays from each block to be staged one more time in the final round, to be held on Nov. 16 starting at 8 p.m. There, judges will select the top three, which will win cash prizes.
All performances are at Dulwich College in southern Seoul's Sinbanpo area.
"Come out and support your friends, coworkers and community members!" organizers said in an online invitation. "Let your voice be heard!"
Evening shows cost 20,000 won each, and matinee shows are 15,000 won. There are all full packages priced between 40,000 won and 50,000 won, enabling the ticket holder to attend one each of Program A and Program B, as well as the finals.
Seoul Players is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based English-language theater group that started here in 2001.
