By John Redmond

The Global Bridge Program for children will start from Aug. 25 and continue through to April in 2013 at Hanyang University’s Erica Campus in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do.

It was initiated by the Ministry of Education in 2010. Seven Universities have been selected as Global Bridge Program Centers nationwide. Hanyang University (Erica Campus) is currently the designated centre for running the language Program for children (aged 11-15) living in the Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Incheon areas.

Subjects and activities include, Korean reading, writing and discussion, English project-based learning plus field trips and a ski camp in winter,

Benefits for children include the chance to have an excellent opportunity to socialize with other children from multi cultural backgrounds, the opportunity to improve their Korean and English proficiency levels and the chance to express themselves through various projects and extracurricular activities, such as singing, dancing, cooking, skiing, amongst others.
