Viva Peroni

Premium labels distinguish that of superior quality and value. Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Italy’s number one, super premium beer, boasts that distinction. Successfully launched in the local market on May 27, the brand philosophy, “Peroni Nastro Azzurro is Italian style applied to beer” has quickly spread to the main hip and happening venues in Seoul.
In order to introduce to the Korean public some internationally appreciated Italian icons from the world of fashion and design a series of “Momenti Peroni” events is being planned where everyone is drinking Nastro Azzorro.
In collaboration with Carrera sunglasses, executive chef Sebastiano Giangregorio and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Korea, the first event “Momenti Peroni & Carrera” will take place this Thursday at Paninoteca, in the popular Garosu-gil neighborhood in Shinsa-dong, Seoul.
Guests are welcome to submerge themselves in real Italian style and culture while gorging on authentic Italian finger food and many bottles of Peroni beer.
Founded under the family name, the Peroni Brewery dates back to 1846 and exemplifies true Italian craftsmanship and refinement. First available in 1963, Nastro Azzorro is a 5.1% alcohol by volume pale lager and still brewed in Italy using the same recipe. The name means “blue ribbon” in Italian and the company is now owned by the London-based brewing giant SABMiller. It is distributed in only high-end bars, lounges and Italian restaurants.
Echoing the artistry in eyewear, Carrera began in 1956 with sports glasses and gained acclaim with ski goggles and helmets in the 1970’s. Taking inspiration from the South American car races, Carrera Panamericana in the 50’s, Carrera develops products working together with athletes and using modern technology. Worn by Lady Gaga and well-known throughout Europe, Carrera designer sunglasses recently began aggressive advertising in Korea and attracts the glitterati of the local market.
What better way to wash down a bottle of Peroni than with apertivo-styled Italian food? After working as Executive sous-chef in second at the 3-star Michelin restaurant “Rome Cavalieri, at The Waldorf Astoria” in Rome, and as an Executive Chef consultant at the 2-star Michelin restaurant “Hotel La Perla” in Corvara, in Italy, Giangregorio, is now the chef owner of three outlets here in Seoul. Mouth-watering, unmistakably Italian tasty treats will be prepared by the chef himself.
During the event up and coming female DJ Shanell and DJ Jimboy will be playing the soundtrack for the festivities.
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Korea supports Italian companies in Korea with their promotions and events. Visit www.itcck.org for more information.
