Seoul Shakespeare Company brings ’Gore and Madness’
Just in time for Halloween, Seoul Shakespeare Company dives into four of Shakespeare’s darkest tragedies at Algwah-Haek Theatre on Oct. 29 – 30.
Excerpts from the plays include pieces from, Titus Andronicus, Julius Caesar, Hamlet, and Richard III.
Titus Andronicus serves as the brutal framework for the production. This blood splattered journey, focusing on the mutilation and revenge of Titus’ daughter Livinia, is not always easy for audiences to stomach.
Performances will be given at 3 p.m. on Oct. 29 and 7 p.m. on Oct. 30.
Tickets cost 20,000 won.
To get there leave exit 2 of Hyewha Station (line 4, stop 420). Walk out of the exit and turn left just after the ticketing booth. Walk straight for a short time and Alqwha Haek Theatre will be on your left. Look for the “Gore and Madness” posters leading from the subway exit. Buses 143 and 710 will get you to exit 2 of Hyewha Station as well.
