Cheongpyeong Riverside Beer Festival due Saturday

Ka-brew, a local brewing company, and Penial Family Hotel will present Cheongpyeong Riverside Beer and Mexican Grill Festival on May 28 from noon to 10 p.m.

With a capacity to hold more than 3,000 people, the festival will feature live music from six bands and one DJ.

The bands listed are Magna Fall, who will play at 2 p.m.; Seoul City Suicides at 3: 10 p.m.; Vidulgi OoyoO at 4: 20 p.m.; Angry Bear at 5: 30 p.m.; Used Cassettes at 6: 40 p.m.; and No Respect for Beauty at 7: 50 p.m. A DJ will lead the party from 8: 30 p.m.

The beers on tap include Pilsner, Dark Ale, Weizen, Golden Ale and Kolsch.

The Mexican food will be supplied by Tomatillo Restaurant.

Prices for admission are advanced tickets (including one free beer) 10,000 won or 15,000 won at the door. Beer coupons cost 10,000 won for four beers (purchased in advance) or at the door 10,000 won for three beers.

To get there, passengers can take the train to Cheongpyeong Station from Sangbong Station on subway line no. 7. There is a free shuttle bus from Cheongpyeong Station to the Penial Family Hotel.

Alternatively, a KA-Brew bus will depart from Noksapyeong Station at 10:30 a.m. at exit 2 and return from the Penial Family Hotel at 10:30 p.m. The tickets cost 20,000 won for a round trip or 10,000 won for a single journey.
