Canada/US Independence Day BBQ cruise

With Canada Day on July 1 and U.S. Independence Day on July 4, July 3 is the perfect date to celebrate the two North American holidays.

There will be a Han River BBQ Cruise to celebrate the two national holidays open to everyone who wants to join the celebration from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - people won’t have to show a Canadian or American passport to get on board.

The costs are Gallery tickets after June 19 50,000 won and VIP tickets after June 19 70,000 won.

Gallery tickets include choice of BBQ burgers (request vegetarian option with reservation), brats, smokies as well as salads, four tickets for freshly brewed Ka-Brew Beer (choice of Golden Ale, Porter, Weizen, Pilsner) or soft drinks.

Korean War 60th anniversary photo exhibition

Exhibition at Daelim Contemporary Art Museum opens from June 24 through Aug. 20. It closes on Mondays. From 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Admission is 4,000 won for adults and 2,000 won for students.

Daegu International Musical Festival

The Daegu International Musical Festival will be held from June 12 through July 5 with both day and evening performances offered. The cost varies from 7,000 won and up.

The venue is the main and side stages located in downtown Daegu and the surrounding area. It aims at developing musical theater into an industry through which the beauty and joy of the arts can be appreciated by both international citizens and local residents.

Summer Korean classes in Itaewon

Registration for the summer session of Korean classes at the Itaewon-Hannam Global Village Center will be held this month. Registration will be held separately for the absolute beginner classes and the other levels. Registration for a new session of evening classes (level is absolute beginner only) will also be held this month.

Registration dates: - Absolute beginner classes: Monday June 21 at 9 a.m.to Wednesday the 23rd (until the classes are full).

All other levels: Monday June 28 at 9 a.m.to run until Wednesday the 30th (until the classes are full).

Evening classes: Thursday June 24 starting at 6:30 p.m.

The summer session will start on July 5 and run for 10 weeks.

Registration priority will be given to those students who can attend the entire session.

The fee of 10,000 won is non-refundable -this money is used for a get-together with classmates at the end of the session.
