A brochure showing the same type of torpedo that allegedly sank a South Korean warship in March has the name of a North Korean economic organization printed on it, a spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense said Tuesday.

A Seoul-led multinational investigation group, including experts from the United States, Britain, Australia and Sweden, concluded last month that a North Korean submarine sank the 1,200-ton frigate Cheonan with a torpedo in the West Sea on March 26.

But some civic groups here have expressed doubts over the group's findings, including the catalog carrying a blueprint of the torpedo, CHT-02D, and refuse to blame North Korea.

The investigation team had presented the catalog as decisive evidence to prove North Korea was responsible for the attack, saying parts of the propulsion system of the torpedo collected from the site of the sinking match in size and shape the specifications on a blueprint of the CHT-02D.

Ministry spokesman Won Tae-jae said the blueprint bore the name of a North Korean economic organization but refused to make it public.
