Kim Chang-ryul, lead vocalist of K-pop band DJ DOC, was booked Tuesday for allegedly beating a member of a K-pop boy group from his entertainment agency.
In last November, Kim Tae-hyun of Wonder Boyz sued Chang-ryul, president of Enter102, for hitting him in the face several times at a restaurant in Nowon-gu, northern Seoul, in 2013. He also accused the vocalist of stealing the band's income for three months - 30 million won ($25,900).
The accused denied the charges. But prosecutors did not take account of his denial and said the testimonies of the victim and witnesses were more reliable. Meanwhile, they dismissed the allegation of stealing money because of a lack of evidence.
The statute of limitations on assault is up to three years in Korea.
