An off-duty presidential office security guard has nabbed a man allegedly taking “upskirt” photos.
According to Uijeongbu police station, the security guard was enjoying a day off with his wife at an arcade room on Wednesday when he saw the man. Then man, identified only as Lee, was running his smartphone camera under the woman’s skirt, police said. The woman, who was playing a video game, was unaware of what was happening.
After a brief shoving match, the security guard restrained Lee and searched his smartphone, finding some upskirt shots. Police are investigating whether Lee has previously committed similar crimes.
Under the Sexual Crime Law, those caught taking a photo or video of a person without consent face up to five years in prison or 10 million won in fines.
