Government to ban potentially dangerous arrivals
The government will ban people who might pose a danger to Korea from traveling to the country.
The Ministry of Justice said Tuesday it would examine passenger information before issuing boarding passes for planes bound for Korea, starting in January.
The system is on trial for domestic carriers at eight airports in five countries including Nagoya Airport in Japan.
The government will increase the number of airports using the system.
In addition, more staff will be hired to crack down on illegal immigrants. Personal details will be analyzed, and people who pose a danger might be refused visas when they try to go through immigration checkpoints.
The government will also crack down on agents bringing in illegal immigrants and finding jobs for them.
