Korean men spend the least amount of time doing household chores of adult male populations living in 29 major economies.
According to a report, Korean men spend a daily average of 45 minutes on housework, the shortest amount of time among the countries. This is one third of the average of 139 minutes. The list of countries includes 26 OECD member states and China, India and South Africa.
The findings were published by Statistics Korea Monday, based on recent data sourced from the OECD.
Men in Denmark are the most active in households, spending 186 minutes on chores, followed by those in Norway (184 minutes) and Australia (172 minutes).
Asian countries are on the opposite end of the spectrum _ China, Japan and India spend 91 minutes, 62 minutes and 52 minutes, respectively.
Korean women spend 227 minutes engaged in housework, 182 minutes longer than men. This is comparable to a 31 minute difference with women in Norway. India marked the largest gap between men and women, with 300 minutes.
