Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Chairman Han Sang-kyun says he will stay in Jogye Temple as part of his battle for workers ‘rights.
Temple officials had given him a Dec. 6 deadline to leave.
“I cannot leave as of now,” he said in a statement released by KCTU members on Monday.
“I cannot forget the mission of 20 million laborers who have vowed to stop labor laws being reformed.”
Han took refuge in the temple in downtown Seoul after a violent rally in late November.
