An ice-skating rink will be set up at Yeouido Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG), a 3,300 square-meter ice rink will be placed in the center of the park for 55 days from Dec. 22.

It will open at 10 a.m. and stay open until 9:30 p.m. The entrance fee is 1,000 won ($.90) for an hour-and-a-half. Skate and helmet rental is another 1,000 won.

A day pass costs 3,000 won and a season pass for 55 days is 20,000 won. The season pass includes rental fees for skates and helmet.

Korea Development Bank and Kiwoom Securities will sponsor the ice rink while environmental groups, including Seoul Green Trust, will manage the facility.

“The new ice-skating rink at Yeouido Park will be an exemplary case of a private company’s contribution to society,” said an SMG official.

“Profits from the ice rink will go to helping the poor.”
