Suwon District Court has sentenced actor Kim Sung-min to 10 months’ jail and fined him 700,000 won ($596) for using methamphetamine, a drug banned in Korea.

Kim, who was detained in March, twice ordered the drug online in November 2014, the court said. It is the second time Kim, 41, has been sentenced over the drug.

During the trial on Aug.19, the prosecution requested two years in prison and a 1.7 million won fine, claiming Kim committed the crime while under a suspended sentence.

The actor had received a four-year suspended sentence in 2011 for smuggling and using the drug.

Kim had smuggled the drug from the Philippines between April 2008 and August 2010 and used it more than four times in September 2010.
