Jeonju, Guam top travel destinations

Koreans' most-popular domestic travel destination is Jeonju, while Guam is the top overseas holiday spot.
The findings are based on social commerce site Coupang's sales of packages scheduled for June through August.
Jeju had been the top domestic destination, but in Coupang's purchases the southwestern city Jeonju topped the list, followed by port city of Busan and southern Geoje Island.
Jeonju is known for its sightseeing, including its traditional hanok village and Jeondong Cathedral, and its array of eateries.
For domestic trips, people preferred free traveling over packages. Other top-selling items included shuttle bus tickets to the hanok village in Jeonju, free travel to Busan from Seoul by KTX and Geoje Island ferry tickets.
For Guam, travelers tended to purchase packages for June through August months ahead because of an accommodation shortage.
Saipan, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Europe followed in overseas travel popularity.
