Singer detained for drug charges

Prosecutors detained singer-songwriter Cho Deok-bae Wednesday on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs.
The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office said Cho was detained near his house Wednesday. He was found to be carrying 2 grams of cannabis and 8 grams of methamphetamines.
It sent hair samples to the National Forensic Service (NFS) for verification of drug use.
Cho was first detained for using cannabis in 1991, and was later charged four more times for the same offense.
In 2003, police detained him for using and selling methamphetamines.
