Seoulite spends 250,000 won over 3-day holiday

On holidays, Seoul citizens spent an average of 250,000 won per person over three days, and they were most likely to visit Gangwon Province in August, a survey showed.

According to the Seoul Institute’s survey released on Tuesday “The travel pattern of Seoulites,” the most preferred destination for a one-day trip was Gyeonggi Province, which is close to Seoul.

The destinations preferred were Gangwon (22.9 percent), Gyeonggi (7.6 percent) and Jeju (5.4 percent).

The timeframe most travelers chose was August, July, December, in descending order. The yearly budget for a more-than-two-day trip was 410,000 won per person, and 250,000 won was spent per a trip, the survey showed.

Some 42 percent of the surveyed spent their time taking such trip at least once a year, and they spent an average of 2.9 days.

The most frequented destination for one-day trips was Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and Seoul.

On such trips, an average of 140,000 won was spent yearly and 80,000 won per a trip. Only 29 percent of the surveyed actually took on a one-day trip, according to the survey.
