The suspect of the Yongin mutilation murder, Shim, 19, kept data about animal slaughter.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency and the Yongin Dongbu Police Station said on July 18 a result of their search of digital electronics from locations in connection with Shim’s whereabouts. The search confirmed that Shim’s smartphone contained a document file describing an animal slaughter process.

The police ransacked three desktop computers and two laptop computers from his house as well as one computer beached at the motel where Shim committed the murder.

The laptops from Shim’s house had no trace of website records, videos or photos related to autopsy or cadaver since as early as July 2011.

The laptops recorded 5,000 counts of Internet access and contained 28,000 files of photos and videos and 177 files of sexual images, with none regarding the grotesque subjects.

It was, however, discovered that Shim uploaded a YouTube link to his personal blog “minihompy” in early 2013 which shows a cadaver autopsy video.

Shim’s smartphone, except containing the animal slaughter document file, appeared normal as it contained 65,000 files of seemingly harmless photos and videos.

The police will send the suspect to the prosecutor’s office on July 19 after completing their corroborative investigation.
