2-hour daily rest allowed for pregnant public servants

Pregnant public servants will have two-hour daily rest from September, Ministry of Security and Public Administration said Tuesday.

Women who just got pregnant, and those who are close to their due dates will be entitled to daily rest, it said.

That is, women less than 12-week-, or more than 36-week-pregnant are eligible.

Resting in a break room or adjusting working hours, or both will be ways to optimize each mom’s convenience, the Ministry added.

“It’s a paid rest, and the servants can control time however they see fit. We hope this measure will help the employees work in an environment that value having children, and give them emotional support,” one official from the Ministry said.
