Internet broadcast site to help find lost pets

Owners who lose their pets will now have a better chance of finding them.
Ustream, an Internet broadcast site that provides a real time streaming service (www.ustream.tv), said Friday it will begin a 24-hour stream in Korea to broadcast the animal shelters in real time in order to help owners find lost pets.
The site will broadcast the real time situation of the abandoned animals’ shelter run by CARE (Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth).
Through cameras installed on their mobile or PC devices, users can check in real time whether or not their lost pet is at an animal shelter.
Test streaming for the broadcast began last month and regular streaming will be available starting from the end of this year. Until now, 2,000 users have tried out the test service.
The Ustream site expects this new service to enhance awareness about lost or abandoned animals and lead to adoption even if they don’t return to their owners.
According to CARE, the number of people visiting the shelter for adoption increased after the streaming service was launched.
