No one under 19
Nowadays, you don’t actually have to go to the bookstore to get something to read: There is something called the ebook and Internet orders.
And there is something interesting about the mobile book shopping. It is that women in their 30s move the market.
Not only are they interested in books on children and lifestyle, they go for what is called the “grey series,” which is something like soft porn for growing women, that is women who are “older than 19.”
Park Ja-young, a 33-year-old working mom feels sorry for her five-year-old son and looks through the Internet to purchase books for him.
However, the reality is that the most-sold books online is hardly children-related.
Many women in their 30s are reading soft porn, like the romance novel “50 shades of grey” which sold more than 1 million copies on Amazon.com. The book also sold 230,000 in hard copies.
Kim Mi-hyun, a 31-year-old housewife, has been drowning in ebooks although she tends to stay from anything pornographic but romantic novels.
