'Somebody is watching us'

A 26-year-old working woman, Yoon, in Incheon recently had an experience that she does not want to remember.

On Sept. 1, her mother saw a man in his 20s staring at her as she was walking down the stairs. She did not give it much thought.

But a week later Yoon detected someone who quickly hid himself as she was getting out of the elevator on the ninth floor. She got back onto the elevator and went down to the first floor where she fortunately ran into her 22-year-old sister.

She explained what had happened and called her parents to come to the apartment, at which time her sister yelled, “There is someone watching us!”

As she inspected, she found someone looking through the window between the eighth and ninth floor. The turning on of the lights indicated that he was moving around the stairwell.

The two sisters immediately went downstairs to the security guard’s room when a man came over, looked at them straight in the eyes and walked away smoking a cigarette.

The Yoon sisters called 112 and the police arrived, only to say that as no damage had been done there was little they could do.
