Sex criminal mocks police

Almost immediately after police strengthened its random questioning of possible suspects following a sexual assault on an elementary school student in Naju, a high school girl has been reportedly raped, raising concerns among residents in and around Gwangju.

On Sept. 6, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly dragged from an area around an apartment in Gwangjin, Gwangju, to a construction site and raped. The location was only 30 meters away from a main street.

This was actually right along a street where police conduct patrols to prevent crimes. Policemen patrol the area every two hours and records show that there were seven street patrols between nine that night and nine the following morning.

There have been concentrated actions on preventing criminal activities but culprits are mocking the police, engaging in their crimes right under their noses.
