Asiana Airlines will begin a new cargo service between Incheon and Dallas starting next month.
The airline said Thursday it will use the Boeing 747-400 for the new route that will operate five days a week from Incheon International Airport.
The flights will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 10:40 p.m. from Incheon and arrive the next day at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport via Anchorage.
“We expect Dallas to act as a key point in the southern region in addition to the already existing flights to Atlanta and Miami,” an Asiana manger said.
“We decided to launch the route to Dallas as we expect the South American market to play a vital role in the upcoming 2014 Brazil World Cup as well as the 2016 Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro,” he said.
“We also expect the launch to foster trade between the two cities and strengthen our company’s cargo network in the Americas, enhancing our competitiveness in the region.”
