I can kill patient within 3 seconds: nurse

Remarks by a nurse Thursday that she could kill a patient and his or her caretaker within 3 seconds have triggered a backlash.

The 23-year-old nurse at a hospital in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, said, “if you incur a nurse’s enmity, it will be a shortcut to being killed quickly. We nurses, know not only how to keep you alive but how to kill.

“Don’t make complaints (against nurses)! If I make up my mind, I can kill you within 3 seconds. Nevertheless, I, as a normal person, am controlling my resentment.”

The controversial remarks spread swiftly via social network services.

As Internet users’ criticism heaped up, the nurse deleted her Twitter account.

Since posts denouncing her flooded the hospital’s website, users have been unable to make an access to it.

The woman, surnamed Cho, began working as a nurse at the hospital on May 1. She tendered her resignation Friday, saying she was sorry for causing trouble, a hospital official said.
