Woman kills herself after death of pet dog
By Yi Whan-woo
A woman killed herself, apparently driven to despair after her pet dog died, police said Tuesday.
A colleague found the body of the 32-year-old woman and the dead pet in her arms in the bathroom of her apartment in Busan on Monday and reported it to the police.
Police said the bathroom was sealed with duct tape with a burning briquette inside.
The female surnamed Kim left a suicide note, reading “Bury me with my dog so we will be together forever.”
Police are investigating the exact cause of the death while presuming she died of carbon-monoxide poisoning.
The co-worker said Kim has been absent from work from Thursday and out of contact.
She moved out from her family four years ago and had the dog since then, police said.
