CSAT applicant jumps to death
A high school graduate who was to take a college entrance exam for the second time was found dead in an apparent suicide Thursday, only a few hours before the nationwide exam began.
According to the police, a 19-year-old applicant to the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) was found dead by his father in the parking lot of a wedding hall building, near his house in Daejeon around 6 a.m.
The father said he went to search for his son as he had not come back home after leaving home in the morning, the police said.
Given the condition of the body and a suicide note, the police suspected he committed suicide by jumping off the building, presumably due to pressure from the exam. He did not perform well in last year’s CSAT.
