NK discharge 1,000 tons a second
North Korea seems to have started discharging water from its dam, Seoul officials said Monday.
The North is presumed to be releasing around 1,000 tons of water per second from one of its dams located near the inter-Korean border, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said, citing a change in water level in the area.
On Sunday, Pyongyang notified the Seoul government that it would discharge water from a border dam in a bid to prevent flooding following the recent heavy rains.
