Dutch Prison Break

A 35-year-old inmate has escaped through a tunnel from a women's prison in the Dutch city of Breda. She was serving a sentence for violent crime.

The penal authorities are not commenting on the sort of tunnel the woman used, nor on the remaining duration of her detention.

Prison escapes are rare in the Netherlands, although a number of violent criminals have managed to escape while on supervised leave in recent years.

One such escapee, human trafficker Saban B., was arrested on Monday in his native Turkey, where he has been living since he fled the Netherlands.
