FM to Participate in Afghan Meeting in London

Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan will take part in an international meeting in London, today (KST) to discuss Afghanistan-related issues, a ministry spokesman said Wednesday.
Top diplomats from 60 countries and representatives of U.N. organizations will talk about security, governance, development and regional support during ``Afghanistan: The London Conference.''
The government has already announced plans to dispatch more members to the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) to Afghanistan.
``We are making preparations to have the unit in operation from the second half of the year,'' Yu said.
He added that the National Assembly is expected to pass a motion on the dispatch of more civilian workers and security forces next month.
