Korea, Israel to Discuss Economic Ties

South Korea and Israel will start discussions on ways to boost trade and economic cooperation at a meeting in Jerusalem next Monday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Wednesday.
Major agendas between Deputy Minister for Trade Ahn Ho-young and his Israeli counterpart Boaz Hirsh will include cooperation on renewable energy and industrial technology, the ministry said in a statement.
The two sides are also expected to talk about a free trade agreement (FTA), it added.
Bilateral trade reached $1.9 billion last year.
Since a direct flight between Incheon and Tel Aviv started last September, economic and cultural exchanges as well as personnel exchanges have steadily increased.
