Alert Issued for Valentine’s Day Virus

A worm virus cloaked in Valentine's Day messages is rapidly spreading across the worldwide web, online solution company Inca Internet said Wednesday.

Emails under the title of ``I give my heart to you,'' ``You are the ONE,'' ``I belong to you,'' `` Wanna kiss you,'' are being sent randomly to user accounts using a fake online address.

If recipients click on the icon leading to the site where it is claimed messages from loved ones await, the virus can instantly affect a user's computer, the company said.

Corrupt files bearing the names ``youandme.exe'', ``meandyou.exe'', ``love.exe'', ``onlyyou.exe'', and ``you.exe'' can also be attached and recipients are being urged not to open them.

The viruses can cause computers to slow down or leak personal information, such as email addresses and IP addresses.

Similar viruses have been sent out during the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays.

``Do not open any suspicious emails and keep updating your virus screening tools,'' an Inca spokesman said.
