Prime Minister to Attend Davos Forum
Prime Minister Han Seung-soo will attend the Davos Forum, an annual meeting of intellectuals and international political and business leaders scheduled to be held in Switzerland from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1, the prime minister's office said Thursday.
About 2,000 figures from around the world will attend the meeting, organized by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum under the theme of ``Shaping the Post-Crisis World," Han's aides said. They include U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
Prime Minister Han will explain to global leaders Korea's green growth policy and measures to overcome the economic downturn, they said.
In addition, Han will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of foreign countries and international organizations to ask for their support in Korea's bid to join the Financial Stability Forum (FSF), the aides said.
