Fathers Debt Drives Son to Suicide

A 28-year-old man was found hanged in the living room of his home, police said Wednesday.

The body of the man, only identified by his last name Choi, was discovered by his wife, who came back from a bath house at 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Yonhap News quoted the wife as saying that her husband was under pressure to repay 300 million won that his father borrowed to operate a business.

Choi had been repaying the debt instead of his father, whose business went bankrupt, and often had quarrels with his wife over the matter, police said.
