Counsel to Clear Lee Myung-bak of Fraud Allegations

The independent counsel will announce Thursday the result of its probe of President-elect Lee Myung-bak involving allegations of financial fraud and other irregularities.
Officials from the special prosecution team have said that they have failed to secure evidence proving Lee's involvement in the alleged financial scam.
``We are going to report the result of our probe to President Roh Moo-hyun and the National Assembly at the same time,'' said Kim Hak-keun, an assistant prosecutor of the team.
The announcement will come 38 days after the launch of investigation and four days before Lee's inauguration scheduled for Monday.
