The former boyfriend of K-pop singer Ivy was indicted with physical detention for blackmailing the singer and her management agency by threatening to make public steamy video clips showing the former couple's sex life.

Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said Monday that it will also prosecute the ex-boyfriend, Yoo, 31, for committing violence, intimidation and destroying her property.

The prosecution said the former boyfriend had asked Ivy in early October to make their relationship public. As she refused and abruptly expressed her wish to break up with him, he took revenge.

He sent 37 text messages to several concerned figures including Ivy, her manager and head of Fantom Entertainment Group, alleging that he had several video clips including scenes of sexual relations between Ivy and himself.

Prosecutors announced last week they found no trace on his computer of the suspected video clips.

According to the investigation, he hit Ivy five times on Oct. 3 while she was driving to a coffee shop located in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, in southern Seoul. He also caused 2.3 million won worth of damage to her car on the same day.

He extorted 1.5 million won from the company and also requested as much as 45 million won in cash to erase a tattoo of Ivy's name from his body.
