In the post-free trade agreement (FTA) era, the number of intensive knowledge-based jobs will increase while administrative or manual industrial jobs will decrease.

Korea Employment Information Service did a survey on 100 specialists in FTA negotiation sectors between July 12 and Sept. 21 and announced that domestic corporations will restructure their employment strategies.

The service said market openings in the knowledge area will expand, and the demand for marketing, branding, research and development, and merger and acquisition specialists will rise. The number of employment recruiters will also increase as many are expected to change their workplaces.

Communication skills, including English speaking ability, will also be key qualification criteria for a prospective employee. Job openings for creative, professional and experienced workers will increase.

``After the FTA agreement comes into effect, there will be a huge change in the job market. Some jobs will be outsourced while others imported. For those who work in areas that will lose competitiveness, the government needs to provide education to help people find work in fields with more potential,'' Lee Yo-haeng of the service said.

Here are the jobs with the highest potential within the various FTA sectors.

1. Automotive: vehicle designer, engineer, marketing agent, quality manager, imported car salesman, tuning specialist.

2. Textiles: product developer, textile designer, colorist.

3. Medicine: clinical therapist, medicine patent specialist, quality manager.

4. Publication: book master, book marketer.

5. Film: screen writer, film producer and marketer.

6. Computer games: graphic designer, game scenario writer, sound effect designer.

7. Media: dubbing artist, translator, marketer, digital broadcasting specialist, editor.

8. Environment: consultant.

9. Finance: investment or credit analyst, stockbroker and investment audit manager.

10. Law: patent attorney, damage analyst.
