Seoul Offers Programs for Agriculture

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is offering educational programs to children and citizens to help them get first-hand experience in traditional agriculture and science.

The program takes place in several parks, including Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu. About 2,000 square meters of land have been transformed into a field featuring 11 different plants and trees such as wheat, pumpkin, apple and pear.

Land along the Jungrang Stream, between Gunja Bridge and Jangan Bridge, is being used for vegetables, reeds and pampas grass where visitors can participate in agricultural activities.

Other parks used for the educational programs include Dungnamu Green Park in Nowon-gu, which is holding an agricultural class on the first and third Sunday of every month, and Shinsa Green Park in Eunpyeong-gu, which offers an ecology class to visitors.
